As we slowly gear up for the second FISU World Universities Cheerleading Championship 2024, we are thrilled to share with you the essence and vibrancy behind our official logo.
A Symphony of Colors and Shapes
The emblem is an abstract symbol composed of eight rectangles intersecting to form a symmetrical composition resembling a pom-pom. This dynamic arrangement emanates from the centre, spreading in all directions, symbolizing growth and development. The logo incorporates four captivating colors – deep blue, yellow, cyan, and red. Together, these hues create a lively sense of identity, evoking the spirit of Dalmatia, Split, joy, youthfulness, and the vibrant energy of university life. Guided by the FISU principle that the logo should convey the form of the letter U, we strategically designed the negative space in the middle to resemble this letter. This thoughtful touch adds depth to the symbolism, emphasizing the championship’s connection to the world of universities.
Zico Sans – Where Versatility Meets Performance
Our chosen typeface, Zico Sans, takes inspiration from sports jerseys while offering versatility for a wide range of applications. By shedding robust serifs, Zico Sans becomes a high-performance typeface with low contrast and optimal legibility even in the darkest weights at smaller sizes. This choice reflects our commitment to a modern and dynamic identity for the championship.
