FISU CISCA Inspection Visit: Ensuring Readiness for the World University Cheerleading Championship
Sports 1 August 2024The FISU CISCA inspection of the upcoming World University Cheerleading Championships was recently conducted to determine if the site and facilities were ready. The inspection team, of which members included – Karl Olsen, the Technical Delegate for Cheerleading, Nomsa Mahlangu, FISU Executive committee member, Pietro Rettagliata, FISU Medical committee member and Alejandro Guerra Urbistondo FISU Sport manager carried out an extensive evaluation led by the host – Jelena Matešić, Organizing committee director.
Their first stop in their list was at a primary competition arena and a training hall; What amazed me about these places is that they were all set to receive world event. Afterward they went to accreditation center where they examined how everything had been structured in order to facilitate a smooth registration process for all participants. Housing arrangements for participants as another important item on their agenda. In this respect, delegation reflected upon living conditions that are believed to be comfortable and convenient enough for every participant. In addition, opening ceremony was also part of their itinerary. A venue which promises a resounding beginning to the championship. The last place was GTM (General Technical Meeting) location where vital indormation will be shared.
Overall, the FISU delegation was highly satisfied with the preparations. With all preparations in place, the stage is set for the World University Cheerleading Championship to begin. Teams have already arrived and are actively engaging in training sessions, gearing up for what promises to be an exhilarating competition. The enthusiasm and energy are palpable as the participants make their final preparations.
