General Technical Meeting held before the competition

Before the fierce competition of the FISU World University Cheerleading Championship kicks off, the first General Technical Meeting (GTM) for the competition was held at the Faculty of Economy at the University of Split.

Coaches, players, and officials gathered to discuss the rules, regulations, and logistics of the tournament, fostering a sense of camaraderie and fair play. Representatives from each participating country were introduced to FISU policies and all necessary information about the event.

GTM was opened with a speech from Mr Alejandro Guerra Urbistondo, FISU Sport manager, and Nomsa Mahlangu, FISU Executive committee member, who kindly greeted everyone.

Ms Jelena Matešić, Organizing Committee General Manager, gave the technical information for all aspects of the organization with an emphasis to spread the information so teams can be up to date with all that is happening. The floor was then given to Karl Olsen, the Technical Delegate for Cheerleading, who was the leading speaker with all important FISU information and regulations.. 

Pietro Rettagliata, FISU Medical Committee member, and Marko Žunić. FISU Executive Committee member and the local organizing committee were also present at the meeting.

The enthusiasm and energy are palpable as the participants make their final preparations. We can’t wait to witness the passion and talent on the floor.
