The 2024 FISU World University Cheerleading Championship, a premier student sports event taking place in the vibrant city of Split, Croatia is officially opened. This spectacular competition will host over 500 participants from 13 countries and 46 universities around the world, making it the largest student sports event in Split this summer.
A Celebration Beyond Sports
This championship is more than just a competition; it’s a celebration of sports, entertainment, education, and cultural exchange. Set against the stunning backdrop of Split, known as the “most beautiful city in the world,” this event promises to be a unique fusion of athleticism and cultural diversity.
Opening Ceremony Highlights
The opening ceremony was a grand affair, featuring a parade of participating teams from the following countries: Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Hungary, Japan, Lithuania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Sweden, Chinese Taipei, United States of America, and host country Croatia.
Special guests and dignitaries, including representatives from state, county, and city institutions, graced the event with their presence, adding to the ceremony’s prestige. Notable mentions include:
